Water Restrictions (10.31.07) Due to continuing drought conditions, the Georgia EPD has declared Drought Conservation Level 4, which is a Total Ban on Outdoor Watering. Certain exemptions remain at present, but may be further restricted if conditions do not improve. Water consumption and watering restrictions have been in the news a great deal this year as the metropolitan area has suffered perhaps the most severe drought on record. The State Climatologist has determined that the coming winter months will have below average precipitation so we cannot count on winter rains to replenish our water supplies. So it is imperative that we make the most effective use of the water that is available.
Please click here for additional information. Or if you have questions regarding watering restrictions, you may contact Chris Boyd, Water Distribution Superintendent, at 770-641-3715.

Fox and Coyote Sightings
There have been several calls to the board recently regarding fox and coyotes sightings on both the east and west side of the neighborhood. Please be aware that we have had multiple reports of fox sightings on both the east and west side of the neighborhood. If you have outside cats, it's been recommended by an animal specialist that you consider installing a cat door. The cats can get in, but the fox can't. Please be watchful with your small pets.
Please be aware that discharging a firearm in the neighborhood is unlawful and will lead to your arrest. It is also against the law to shoot the foxes or coyotes.
Your small animals (especially cats) should be kept inside, especially at dawn and dusk, the most vulnerable time for small animals because those are the times these animals tend to hunt for prey.
Animal control is aware of these sightings, and there is nothing they will do about it unless the animal is rabid. If you think you see any rabid animal, please call Fulton County Animal Control. They will do their best to apprehend the sick animal.
Please know that these sightings are nothing new. These sightings have occurred every spring and fall for years. Even though you dont see them does not mean they are not there.
4th Annual Keep Roswell Beautiful Golf Marathon (07.08.07) -- The Keep Roswell Beautiful (KRB) Board of Directors invites highly motivated individuals who love golf to participate in the fourth annual Play the Green to Save the Green Golf Marathon on Monday, August 27 at the Country Club of Roswell.
Interested golfers are asked to collect at least $350 in sponsor donations and then to come out and enjoy a day of golf and play as many holes as possible between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Beverages and lunch are provided.
The event will benefit KRB and raise funds for continuing efforts to educate and involve the citizens of Roswell in the beautification, conservation and preservation of our environment. The Play the Green to Save the Green golf marathon will also help raise funds for KRB signature projects. Last year, the marathon produced enough revenue to fund the purchase of an Earth Balloon. The Earth Balloon is an interactive Social Studies / Environmental / Science K-12 school assembly program used in teaching students of all ages about our physical earth and environment.
KRB is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the citizens of Roswell on the issues of litter prevention, beautification, water quality and solid waste management. KRB accomplishes this through sponsoring events that encourage hands-on participation and by educating citizens to understand important environmental issues. The variety of activities includes: The Great American Clean Up, Rivers Alive Clean Up, Adopt-A-Road, Adopt-A-Stream and Storm Drain Stenciling.
If you are interested in playing, please contact Janet Liberman, Executive Director, at jliberman@ci.roswell.ga.us or 770.641.3715 or download the player forms at www.keeproswellbeautiful.org.
